My home audio upgrades were nothing like yours.. good job with everything man!
I used my NAD AVR that I bought in 2011 with some Mirage towers, Mission center and surrounds, and my Monitor Audio sub. I mean.. it was ok. But terrible for music. So I bought a JBL soundbar with sub lol.. it was...
I just got back into vintage audio.. this can be a 10 year build if I want it to be lol :D
Been awhile since I have had a good stereo.. damn AVRs and soundbars.
And this guy right here will not be buying into any cloud gaming services.
Deep into the -20s right now. They finally scaped the roads last night.. what a slick shitshow that was.
Tomorrow -8 so I will finish my shopping then hahah. Its the couch for me today I think.
I picked this up last night.. good deal. Fresh refurb to last another few decades.
About 20 years ago I had a GTP-450 and GFA-545 that were stolen in a break in.
They are following the money I guess. A lot of people are bummed, but not this guy. Computer hardware has become so laughably expensive over the years. I am almost ready to pursue my past hobbies again. They are still expensive, but you have something to show for it. Instead of an upgrade cycle.
If it helps I had an old board that seemed to hate storage devices.
I lost 4x Raptor 150 ADFD, 1x 120GB Revo Drive, 1x 256GB Crucial M4, and something else..
Haven't lost a drive before or after that board lol..
For me G.Skill is all I buy lol.
Really because I have had the best luck with them, and they just run well.
But I think G.Skill and Asus have always run well together.
One thing that I noticed about QVL is that you have to check by CPU as well. Sometimes the setup might be good for say Zen 2...
People sure weren't doing that when they were offloading GPUs during those dark days. Only now do I see them somewhat reasonable locally.
I would straight trade the ram in my system for a 5080, but not a Gigabyte.. after Christmas haha when people are desperate.
Sounds crazy I know.. but...
I have a pair of Royals myself, and to be fair, they are the best set of DDR4 that I own lol. I bought another set that matched speed timings and voltage, and they were no where near as good. So not so sure that it is just a heatspreader..
