Need some advice or improvements while keeping it around $800 before I pull the trigger.

guys,any chance we could squeeze an sli mobo and a second gtx 460 in there? or perhaps leave room for one in the near future?
wouldnt go quad core, probably dual core. 240/250 is still my pick for a budget build !

if he can get a hold of used ram hell savbe a good 30-40 buckers.

and try the under 50 dollars new sylverstone or elite cases .

Yeah I'm actually worried about the mobo since its not capable of SLI. The second PCIe lane is also only 4x which might impact the performance if I go crossfire. This rig will also be used for 3D rendering using Maya so more cores would be helpful I think.

It's up to you whether a few dollars more is worth it for better timings.
I'd suggest a 1tb drive since you get better performance and more storage.

If you don't need 1tb of space, price match 500GB 3.5" SATA II Desktop Hard Drive 16MB Cache 7200RPM WD5000AAKS - Western Digital at ncix again.

It's up to you but I'd buy the cpu separate and get a motherboard with USB3.0. No point in wasting money later buying an add-on card. With it becoming mainstream so quickly, not getting it with your motherboard when doing such a large upgrade doesn't make sense.

Everything else looks fine.

Spend a bit more on the power supply on that build. The OCZ isn't bad per se but I wouldnt trust it that much.

Change it to a Phenom II X6 1055T, WD Black 1TB and a Corsair PSU. I see that there's a TX750W on sale at NCIX.

What resolution are you gaming at? I'm not a fan of SLI so I'm gonna have to say get the 870 motherboard. It's sooooo good. I have the previous gen, MA-770-UD3 and I absolutely love it.

Don't forget to price match! Bewawa has the WD Black 1TB for like $77.

ok so video card not important? then go for the above mentioned hexa core. stay amd. cheaper, more bang per buck

i'm with crossfire on the ram. and with geokiller on the the psu and hard drive/price matching. I would go evga on gpu cause its the best warentee. CPU is tough. I love my i5 750 cause its been clocked at 4.0 for 6 months without a hickup, but i'm getting a 1055t tomorrow to overclock with a friend that is running a 295 and is seriously CPU limited. also try looking at some of the nzxt cases. I got one for $22 on sale and i'm super happy with it. its got spots for fans everywhere, a bottom mount psu, really the whole package if your on a budget. also the board you have listed isnt sli its just crossfire so check out this wicked little board.
