discussion Acura RDX - Thoughts/Impressions?

Anyone have a current gen RDX? If so thoughts/opinions? I'm probably going to have to get a work vehicle that's at minimum an SUV for the next year but don't want a truck. I'm leaning towards an RDX right now (the RX350 was pretty disappointing) but curious as to anyone's long term experiences.

I'm definitely looking more towards a compact luxury SUV, I've had an Escape Titanium, Grand Cherokee, Rav4 and a Durango as rentals lately and none have really won me over. Probably going to buy a 2012-2015.

As a former Acura owner, and current Honda owner; Save the cash. The luxury tax over a CRV isnt worth it IMO, and you can probably get a brand new CRV for the same (or less) then the used RDX.

Unless you're in to that status symbol stuff to try and keep up with the Jones, then go right ahead.

I have an RX400H and service at the dealer with a free RX350 rental. I think the Rx350 drives quite well, quiet, speedy, and the steering is accurate. I do not like the current Lexus or Toyota front end which looks like an angry animal with fearful eyes and open mouth as if it wants to charge at you.

I'm not interested in buying new, I'll be ditching it as soon as I'm done with TransCanada, not really an SUV guy, but it beats driving a truck and since I charge out a daily vehicle fee, I'd rather put it towards an owned vehicle rather than continue renting like I have been. Buying used the 'Acura' margin seems to drop down quite a bit as well. Still paying a luxury premium, but it's not as bad as new.

But I'll keep it in mind. Might go look at a CRV too. Image is kind of a part of it. Since I'm using it as a work vehicle when I'm normally expected to have a truck, it comes across a little more acceptable if it's a nicer SUV, but fortunately my group's pretty sane so I wouldn't hear the griping I'd have to put up with that I would up North.

I wouldn't recommend any German car without a warranty in place. If you want to used, at least get a CPO because you will need it. My family recently leased a Q3 and it is not the best thing out there. Personally, the rear is too wiggly even driving over expansion joints. In the snow and ice, it's okay on all season but I would switch to snow tires if Vancouver is getting another winter blast in late 2017. The old X1 is better in terms of driving dynamics but it's a harder ride compare to the Q3 but the new X1 is a bigger car. Too bad Subaru switch over to CVT otherwise I wouldn't mind getting back on that brand (family car can't be manual). My current winter beater is a 99 RS automatic with snow tires.

My wife has the 2015 RDX and she loves it, personally I cant stand it. I much preferred the Q5 and RX350, if you like to drive cars the RDX is terrible and you feel very disconnected.

All depends on what you're looking for. I have a Focus RS and 2006 twin turbo Cummins, very different type of transportation!
