high up android executive said 'later this year' which is the phrase often used when something will be released in the fall.
 
Hmm not really that keen on this because unless I can install on any hardware I want or at least easy way to compile it myself, not really interested. The reason I was mucking around with Android-X86 was to reuse an old Chinese tablet that got a great screen but running on the old Intel CherryTrail Atom.

that's what ChromeFlex is for and I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon either. the more peeps using Google ecosystems the better.
 
Honestly, if I was going to consider dropping windows for any OS it'd be linux at this point. Google's no better or ethical than microsoft, and I've got no interest in learning/transitioning to Apple which isn't exactly a bastion of good behaviour either.
