Any experience with laptops mounted on desk arms or monitor arms?

Oops. Posted as I was writing lol. Dam my walls of text.

Uh... no thanks to that Mountup one? Ya its cheaper, and its "only" 6 inches less extension, but look closely at the base for the clamp table mounting option: its like half the size of the Huano one. It might be okay for a light laptop / low pressure when extended straight out, but may be wobbly if angled side to side, and definitely less robust if you ever want to reuse the arm for something like a bigger monitor (I re-use mounts all the time, have one that's probably 7ish years old, about to be used for the 4th time I think, Huano). Up to you!
I agree. I ruled that one out after further inspection too.

Same deal. 6ish inches less extension, much smaller base.

Tis up to you! You probably won't absolutely need to strong Huano one if you only ever use it for this laptop setup, and these shorter ones are cheaper. So ya, up to you!
I'd sooner spend a bit more and buy it once or not again for a long time. Thank you Sir!

The other prob (doesn't apply to us, but for anyone else that may read this): a tiny base for a table clamp puts HUGE pressure on the table top surface. I doubt anyone would be silly enough to clamp one of these to a glass desk... but the cheap arms being cramped to a cheap melamine or similar desk may actually crack/break the desk! Especially so if it's being used at any angle other than straight down the middle of the desk.

That was my reasoning too 🤷‍♂️ and now my Huano arms have been used several times each (ive got one of the double ones as well). They pay for themselves by lasting forever.

Edit: Oh! Have you considered the double one? One arm for you main monitor, one for the laptop? Ha... whole other discussion. A 43 though.. that's a big boy! All depends on weight though, not size (despite what the silly ads everywhere claim)

No, don't need a double arm one. The 43" is exactly in the right spot on its little legs/stand. Right height, good viewing distance when it is pushed to the back of the desk. Also I have my 21" secondary monitor on a tall fixed stand mounted above the 43". So again, moving the 43 would mess up that setup.

This is to allow me to get the laptop into a position close enough to read and type on off to the side but still in the "cockpit" so to speak, but above the tablet I am running GameGlass on, and away from the joystick mounts. I have the laptop on an angle stand, but it still ends up being too inconvenient to use, too far away, especially when I am sitting between two joysticks and can't easily roll over to it.

I know -- very first world problem, but I also know you understand based on all the recent setup you've been working on! :)
