Work in progress Bad Moon Ryzen

xentr_thread_starter
Did you see the Bios versions Johan45 linked in the Ryzen OC thread? Page 4 of the thread. Got his CHVI board up to 3600. Also running some pretty good BCLK, may not be on NVME though.

Nope, but I will check it out. I was under the impression I had the latest beta (0083), but I wouldn't be shocked to see another one. I heard the next public bios is about 2 weeks away, and apparently fixes tons of stuff (including the cold boot issue). Can't wait for that!! :bananafunky:

I decided to buy more toys from Daz. When I started tearing down the Phanteks case, I noticed it comes with 4 140mm fans (bonus). So I picked up a 420 rad, since I have room in the roof (or so I hope, since it's a crossflow rad). Also picked up some Singularity Computers gear for the first time (and totally forgot about the 120mm rad mount, DOH)! Gonna try Mayhems clear coolant too.

Res is super spiffy:

As is the D5 top. Sure not cheap though!

And some Darkside angled fittings, because you can never have enough of these things:

AM4 Watercool mounts for the HeatKiller CPU block finally arrived, direct from Germany. Half way through the conversion, looking kinda Transformer-ish:

All done!

BONUS FOOTAGE:

While getting rid of Daz' corn starch packing peanuts in my basement sink, I realized I had company:

Great day to be indoors today, so I can finally start putting this together! :punk:

Hard to see in those pics above, but those were AM3 mounts (DOH!). Watercool made a boo boo, but they shipped the AM4 mounts out, and they landed today (yay)! I didn't take many pics this time since I seem to be having weird SD card issues with the new camera. All of a sudden, the card becomes corrupt right in the middle of shooting pics and says it can't be read anymore, so I lose all the pics I took up to that point. Anyways, got the Ryzen under water, FINALLY, and this out of focus crap is the only shot I have:

I also had a Homer Simpson moment on the rad mounting. I didn't think I had enough room to mount the 360 to the front cage in pull. Realized I had loads of room and it made life easier. I would have preferred push, but since the Enthoo Luxe only has a pair of fan mounts in front, pull because a necessity. So the simple soft tube temp loop is now complete:

Lots of clearance with the top fitting, so long as I used a straight 90 degree fitting:

Quick and dirty drainage system:

More to come!

I got lots of work done in the last 2 days. I decided to try Daz' matte black Darkside 16mm fittings / 90's. LOVE em!! Also picked up a ton of extensions that are always useful, especially for guys like me who hate bending hard tube. :)

Darkside army to the rescue to clean up this crappy build!!

Fittings are great quality, and the matte finish is perfect.

I made some hard core changes to just about everything. I managed to flip the top rad over, and shove it right up to the roof, with the 140 fans mounted in the top shroud of the Luxe. This was a pain, but made for what I think are very clean tube runs. Also fit a proper SLI expandable fitting between the GPUs. I started with this:

I added a pair of these beauties to the front rad (and flipped the 360 so the ports were up top):

The rad connections had to be in soft tube. They were just too close and too "off" to do otherwise:

I also changed the GPU power extensions to a proper position:

Some people don't like flow meters. I am not one of those people. :) Also, extensions FTW! Much cleaner tube runs, and better reservoir mounting.

I put a 12" Darkside RGB LED strip beside the 360 in front, and used a Darkside to Aura cable to run it off the motherboard. Works great!

Didn't like the lighting setup, so I fixed that, ending up with this:

Coolant looks a bit orange, but with purple backlight, it looks red, which was the plan:

Love these matte black Darkside fittings:

That's where is stands now.

You really do have a great talent for mixing colours, definitely one of the best builds I have seen that has so much variety, cant wait to see finished :)

Thanks! It's pretty much done now. I think! I could have done a bit more (ie made a custom 8-pin PSU extension), but that was in too painful a spot. Plus, I don't think this case could handle too much more cable behind the case panel. It's a bit tight in there. :)

Turned out great Bartacus! Well done. It's soooo clean looking :thumb:

Maybe I missed it in the thread but did you end up going with the two 980s? There are two cards in there for sure, just wondering.

Thanks! Yeah I moved my 980s into it and made it my daily driver. It's still not as stable as I'd like, but I think I'm at Asus mercy for more BIOS updates. But it's *almost* stable at 3.8Ghz CPU / 3466 RAM @ 15-15-15-15-35-50.
Colors look great, really nice build
Thanks man! Not bad for a rather unplanned color scheme. I basically let the component colors influence the build colors. Gray to match the case, red to match the ram, etc. Turned out nice. Looks a look better in person. I *really* need to learn how to take better pics!
