It was Mike Brown in 200M breaststroke final. "Almost" is wonderful except the result is the same as not participating it..No medal.

In case someone forget..the whole point of Olympic is to win medal (and hopefully lots of medals)..Now it's day 06 and we have.... ZERO medal...Let's look at how much medals other nation have so far.
China 34, USA 33, Korea 16, Italy 12, Germany 11, Australia 16, Japan 11, Russia 13, France 16, UK 7, Czech 3, George 3, North Korea 7, Azebraijan 3 and the list goes on...Ok let look at some nation with 1 medal: Tajikstan, Togo, Tunisia, Uzbekistan...

The only thing positive so far is we beat China in men baseball 10-0 !!! Better enjoy it as Baseball event will be discontinue after this Olympic.

We are now rank 52th on the medal standing (What's the point since 0 medal) Let's go Canada!!! The new objective is TO WIN 1 Bronze medal before the Olympic is over..so we can save face in the closing ceremony and return home with some dignity (also explain to the tax payer why we participate in the summer Olympic).

I've tried watching the Olympics but its nearly impossible. The coverage is awful, the CBC website for example does not even have video highlights of ALL the medal winners competing in each event. I cant watch videos on the American or UK news/TV sites because of my IP address.

I like to see the Canadian athletes and give them support but I also like to watch an event of interest to see who won the medals and how they won them. Even better to watch an event live all the way through.

try to find a poxy server you can bounce off of in that country.
that is how my boss watches shows he missed on the Fox website (only allows american IP's)

Hopefully things pick up. Brown did exceptional. As stated earlier - 4th place in the most recognized sporting event in the world is nothing to be ashamed of, however I can see how it would be very disappointing.

In truth though, Summer Olympics isn't really something Canada is cut out for. I'm excited for the 2010. After taking 5th spot in the world and having so many exceptional athletes, and being on "Home Ice" - I have am really hoping for a top 3 in the world finish. We were two medals away from 2nd in Turin :)

mmmm interesting. In the few fragments of events I have been able to watch there was often a discrepancy between the points experts on the TV channel would award and what the judges actually awarded.

Hopefully they don't have a "Eurovision song contest" system of judging for some events.

Anyway why all the empty seats???????

UPDATE 4-Olympics-Wrestling-Angry Swede throws down medal, quits - Yahoo! Canada News

He should give his Bronze medal to us..or better yet sell it on eBay.

I'll have to try that proxy idea .
