Very much so DDC is a pancake in comparison, even with a low profile top such as this random first result combination it is smaller than a D5is there a difference in sizes of DDC vs D5 iv been seeing alot of those ultra SFF pcs all going DDC is it just price or is there actual footprint size between em?
DDC has higher pressure, lower flow, higher noise (higher pitched anyways which stands out to me more than the lower pitch of the D5). But it is thinner so more popular for some uses. After having a few fail and nearly boiling a loop I avoid them, it doesn't help that some of them are basically overclocked without additional heat sinks added. By the time you add a heatsink, pump + pump top your starting to be about the size of a D5 without a top.
The Dual D5 pump top I use is legitimately the only piece of real EK hardware that has ever been in my personal desktops. I had a Koolance bay mounted dual pump + res prior but filling that thing was a pain a full sized slots kinda went away. The EK is also vibration dampened, and I added dampening on top of that so it is double dampened.
