Haha...seriously. The free kick goals they got were fairly good, much better than many of the other team's. The second free kick goal was definitely a tricky one for the keeper. But other than that, likelihood of scoring is rather low.

I am somebody who is against the use of instant replays. It completely invalidates any consistecy among football matches all around the world of all levels (local, club, international, etc.). For instance, an important local inter-regional football match final lacks the provisions for such instant replays. The referee has always been the absolute authority of football. What's next? Use instant replays to retract red cards during ongoing play?

Snooker has also gone the way of technology, and I think there's something to learn from that, but special cameras, replays, and computers were not greeted with welcome arms because of the intrusion on the referee's duty. Say a ball needed to be respotted and the screens and computers might show that the ball can go on its spot. The referee still has the authority to decide against computational fact through technology on the grounds that it is simply too precice for human beings to place accurately.

The same can be said of football and technology. Depending on replays to decide goals and penalties nullifies the referee's perview over the proceedings. The ref may not like a player's aggressive tackle for the ball from behind yet the men in suits up in the air-conditioned boxes use their replays to decide otherwise? There may not have been physical contact, but replays lack situation judgment.

Are you trying to tell me humans are consistent, because they sure as hell are not. Unless you are saying their inconsistency is a form of consistency.

Honestly you are overreacting, it would be in place to ensure goals are goals. I would think a true football/soccer fan would prefer that a game is decided by the players and not an officiating error. Although to be fair the official in the Germany - England match was doing his job, the one in the Mexico - Argentina match not so much.

I wonder if that Cairos technology could work in hockey.
