Seems good for what it is. But I would definitely want to hold one to confirm it’s comfortable…the grips look like they need to angle out more from a comfort perspective.
 
Curious if it’s easier to use this time. The first one was interesting but kinda hard to get used to.
The original always looked like the pads would be more challenge than they're worth, at least for for the games I played mostly.

The new one looks like it blends a normal gamepad with something offering a mouse alternative a little better. I likely won't pick one up, but I'll be curious to read the 'hands on' reviews at some point.

The VR headset is the only one I'm somewhat interested in, but suspect the price will kill it for me.
 
I agree with the sentiment of having to actually hold one to see how it is. I use xbox controllers currently on my pc and they fit my big hands well.

The touch pads on the steam deck I use enough that the texture is worn down. Once used to them they are quite nice for a lot of games... not all but quite a few.
