Leaks are showing massive jumps in pricing for GPU's over the course of the next year.

If the MSRP for a 5090 will be $5000USD in a year, I would expect that ACTUAL retail availability in CAD is going to be approaching $10k.

$10K CAD is beyond stupid. I was offer $18.5K to take over a 3 year old CX-3 coming off lease. If it does spike that much I might just pick up an AMD AI Pro 9700 32GB that's still $2K at the moment.

Silver & Gold at all time highs, RAM shortages abound, not surprising where this estimate is coming from but I'm not sure I believe $5000USD.

I think $2999USD is a more realistic price. I mean, up here we are already paying that and generally speaking American's make the same or more per hour than Canadians, so surely they too can afford it.

$5000CAD though seems plausible as the top end 5090's are already pretty close.

If we in Canada can pay over $4000, and the industry hasnt skipped a beat, then I'm sure a country with 10x the population, and an immensly larger pool of enthusiasts, would be willing to pay that as well. And probably even more. Asus literaly just released a limited edition $4900 CAD Matrix 5090 and I'm sure it will sell out quickly if it hasnt already. And even if the enthusiasts pull back and fewer sell, they will just shifty focus to those server farms who have no issue paying these stupid prices.

I was reading last night that AMD/Nvidia said prices should only increase by about $35 per 8 GB of onboard RAM. I guess we can hope, lol.

5060 ti got here, let's hope 16 GB stays the norm for a few years.

The cheapest 'decent' 5090 is $4100 CAD already. And with memory pricing going up, and NVidia telling board partners they need to source their own gddr... This isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I'm not typically a doomsayer, but things aren't looking good here.

holy crap, I never look at those cards so have no clue what they sell for, here I am bitching about an 800CAD 5060ti.
