Hi All,
I’m new to all of this as my son has asked us to buy him a gaming PC which he will use for school work and to play online games, such as NHL, Fortnite, Modern Warfare, etc.
We live in Calgary and found the following for $1150:
CPU: AMD R7 2700 3.9GHZ 8 Core 16 Thread
COOLING: - AMD Wraith RGB CPU Cooler
-5 x UpHere 120mm RGB case fan (NEW)
MOBO: MSI X470 Gaming Plus with Mystic Light RGB Control
RAM: 16GB G.Skill DDR4 3000mhz
GFX: MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 8gb
BOOT SSD:250GB Adata NVME 3DNand SSD (NEW with 2 YEAR IPR at Mem Express, 3 to 4 times faster than conventinal SSD)
DATA HDD: 2x 500GB Western Digital 7200RPM HDDs
CASE: Corsair Carbide Spec 05 Gaming Case
PSU: CoolerMaster Elite v3 600 watt (NEW with 2 YEAR IPR at Mem Express)
O/S: Clean Install of Windows 10 Pro
Is this a good system for the price or are the components too old for 2020 gaming?
Thanks for any and all help.
