I always assumed people knew about this. I get a newsletter every couple of days from "OpenMedia.ORG" to let people know wtf is going on. They also do a lot of petitions to try and stop this crap. I sign most if not all, and they also push you to contact your local MPs to voice your thoughts on crap like this.I am surprised more people haven't said anything about this .![]()

I think it is a very big threat on privacy rights. And the old arguments of "I got nothing to hide so I got nothing to worry about" never stands, you still have curtains at home.
One of the big issues of mass surveillance is when it gets into the wrong hands. The government indeed has insider threat working for them, the police has bad actors using their powers to resell services to make extra cash on the side... The data leaks that are constantly happening...

The ability of the them to change what powers they have without more debate (I may be wording that wrong) is mind boggling to me.
