I replaced my toshiba 1.8 inch laptop hdd with a ssd. Now I want to access my old 1.8 hdd to see if I had missed downloading all of my files before I replaced it. I have the micro-sata to usb adapter cable. I plug them in. The hdd spins with green light. Using windows file manager, I can see the drive, but when I clicked it, it says I have to format it first before I can use it. The drive was working properly before I replaced it, and there is windows 8 os and the regular files on it. What I can do to access it?
edit: yesterday, I was able to see it in file manager, and the device manager says it was working properly. But now, it just keeps spinning, and the access light flashes and then stops and starts spinning and flashing again. This goes on until I unplug it.I can no longer see it in the file manager.
The cable was purchased together with msata adapter. Could it be a bad cable?
