Microsoft Security Essentials

IMO, Norton is a virus in and of itself. Constant popups, conflicting issues with many games, large footprint, ultra hard to actually REMOVE....I could go on and on.

I have MSE on every one of my systems and I couldn't be happier.

I use it on my server while using Nod32 on my main. They I have to say that MSE is much lightweight and usually detect virus faster than Nod32 ( faster scan ) it's also pretty rare that it can;t delete them while nod can. best free AV IMO.

Problem is people don't care or know about these good free alternatives! And if you do bring it up with them they are always like "Really? Ok!"

+1 for MSE and Malwarebytes.

Why in the hell would anyone pay money to use Norton? Between them and HP it's a toss up for worst software on the planet. Who cares if their newest version is "better". They have screwed up so much they don't deserve another cent of your money.

The used to ONLY use Nod32, but ever since MSE came out a while back, it's the only thing i've installed and recommended.

I also put MSE and Malwarebytes on everything, haven't had any problems.

I switched to MSE a while back cause of Avira's pop ups on the free edition. Does it sill have the same issue?

Here's another hat thrown in for MSE. One small thing I don't like about it though is no simple way of turning it off without it getting bitchy. That being said, I've never had to turn it off because of performance issues which I used to do for Avast so it's kinda a non-issue.
