My new $1000 gaming rig

Sorry but the right thing to say is, stuff (technologies) today was not available last year when the 58xx series came out. (Tessellation and scaling being the two main things, also multi-display setup). Now with the 68xx series AMD will have the advantage in those technologies. Just wait till next week and we will know for sure :)

I think he's talking about CUDA, PhysX, and nVidia's propietary 3d.

Edit: And drop the 465, get a 460. GTX 460 is faster than the 465, overclocks better, runs cooler, takes less power, and is smaller. And Cheaper. Get this and you'll be good.

and yes, NCIX offers price-match, but I can't find it on their site, and I feel really awkward asking for it. Ill probably just buy from TD.

Also, thanks for all the help on the components, you guys helped be build a much better rig for the money than my original plan.

the price matching at NCIX is done directly in the cart, at the bottom theres the Price Match button or in store as well. they are always cheaper then TD (40$ cheapers on the PSU alone...)

New Builds

My only comment would be to definitely go modular with your psu.
Corsair's HX is good, but if you want to spend a bit more, the fully modular AX gold rated psus are nice, more power efficient as well. Seasonic and XFX are 2 others that seem to be popular, and are also great psus.
