Hello, I just moved to Ontario,Ca from the U.S. My quistion ,Where would I buy computer parts ,NCIX, Newegg, Direct Canada ? Here in Ontario or outside the province ?

I lived in Arkansas and one Newegg location is located in Tennessee and I didn't have to pay sales tax because I didn't live in Tennessee, Does Canada have the same tax system as the states ?

Say ,That i live in Ontario and I ordered from B.C. Do I still have to pay GST/HST......PST ?
Thanks to all Canucks that answer and all non Canucks....

Welcome, I'm from San Fransisco myself.

NCIX is my primary simply due to price matching, I occasionally order from the NCIX sister companies, (Direct Canada, Best Direct, Compu2000) and sometimes from Newegg as well.
If I need it fast I get it from Canada Computers or Bewawa since they're both less than 15 minutes drive from me. Tiger Direct is close too, but most of their prices have been unsavory lately.

EDIT: Starting July 1st you'll have to pay HST no matter what, if you buy before then, orders from NCIX will only require 5% GST.

online it's ncix or newegg.ca mostly ncix because of price matching. and if i have too Canada computers not a big fan of there pricing it's not bad but it's not great. jmo

In order of preference.

NCIX (can price match and competitive)
Bewawa (same day free shipping for GTA. Very competitive pricing. May price match)
Canada Computers (local. No price matching.)
Newegg (Competitive pricing)

Of course, they all have good and bad deals. Just depends on what you need.

i hear memexpress and bewawa are coming up more and more lately

you will be bitten by the long mouth of the tax system up here.

1. Bewawa, excellent price and service
2. NCIX, price matching and no GST for a few more weeks
3. Canadacomputer, local and their store is pretty cool. Some good deals when they have sales.

Wow, at first I thought you were from Ontario, California (town) and were moving to Ontario, Canada. (province)

I forgot to mention the Ontario Electronics Recycling Fee, which is the main reason why I plan on keeping my purchases with NCIX. IIRC it's $12 for monitors, $15+ for systems, $5 for printers, and 32 cents per computer peripheral.

We originally had these Electronics Recycling Facilities covered under PST/Municipal Taxes, but then they decided to charge extra. :angry2:

I've had great service from NCIX for years and with their PriceMatching and intermittant shipping deals (fairly often and you can use their point system too) they have been the most professional and reliable 4 me.

Lately I have been buying more from MemoryExpress.com even though they are smaller.
They offer PriceMatching, 7 day PriceProtection, and Free Shipping.

Bewawa.com has been good too but with a smaller selection. Free shipping in the ~ GreaterTorontoArea / $5 across Canada. No re-stocking fees, 15 day refunds.

I'm not a fan of CanadaComputers. Plenty of bad encounters over the years, but I had mostly dealt with the Spadina/College store. Others have different opinions I'm sure.

Good service from Newegg.ca too.
