Need a solution

You should try removing the RAM, cleaning the slots, swabbing the contacts with alcohol, and booting each stick separately to see if that's the culprit.

If they're ok try and swap in another PSU

Okay I have got myself some alcohol and compressed air and am about to test the ram.

However, In order to access my ram I need to remove the Noctua cooler I have, and reinstall the stock CPU cooler and then test each ram stick.

I have only had the noctua NH-D14 for about half a year, the computer used to run with the stock CPU cooler.

FIRST find out what version of Motherboard for your model has 5rev's

GA-890GPA-UD3H
rev. 1.0
rev. 2.0
rev. 2.1
rev. 3.0
rev. 3.1

it is written on MB with (rev x.xx) then get current bios for your MB revision, make sure you have correct file or u'll have a large paperweight

reason for that each rev uses different chip manufacture so if use wrong bios will make it brain dead by shoving chevy part on a ford

Okay, it is the rev. 1.0

I downloaded the latest version for windows 7 64bit.

I extracted the file to the folder and when I ran it, it said the version I have downloaded was not compatible with my OS. Please check my OS and make sure it is 64 or 32.

I didn't get the specs wrong, should I download the oldest versions and try working my way up?

Okay thank you very much, that was easy. I followed everything correctly, and everything went smoothly for the most part.

After I finished it said it would restart now, or later. I told it to do it now, and after I logged on to my desktop it said "windows explorer has stopped working."

I then tried to restart it, opposed to closing it. It kept restarting so I told the computer to restart.

I re did everything after it restarted and everything went fine the second time through.

I am now assuming my bios has been updated correctly.

you can check when boot from cold start

hit the pause break key to read bios screen upper left or lower left

Thank you for all of your help Kaptin.

Everything was running well in games that are prone to blue screen, so that was a good sign.
I turned off the computer and tried to read the bios screen, but all that the pause break key did, was freeze my computer. It was frozen for 2 hours and thirty mins, before i pressed restart.

ok then you were at bios splash and didn't see any bios info thought you mite of had it turned on sorry it took you 2hrs pause/break means freeze computer

best to D/L MB manual and read bios section look for bios screen settings

I guess the bios update has corrected your issues
