New Gaming Rig

I was going to get a few fans with it but forgot about it, going to go find some good fans now.

So ncix says it comes with 4 fans and can have a total of seven does that include the air duct? Also what rpm? Loudness isn't a factor because I'll be using headphones.

8 if you include the air duct. Stock included fans: 2x230mm at top exhaust, 1x120mm rear exhaust, 1x230mm front intake. The stock fans aren't loud. The 230mm are only 800rpm, not sure what the rear 120mm is but I swapped it out for a Slipstream.
Then you can add bottom 120mm intake, 2x120mm by the 3.5" drive cage (behind the front 230mm) to help with airflow and pulling in air from the front 230mm.
And the air duct adds another slot for a fan, I don't use it myself tho.

Another tip about the ATCS, keep the 2 230mm on the top, they are pretty silent ang good. I set mine 2 for intake so my H50 is the out-take. I have to take more try for fan config but I thnig this one is pretty nice.

Ask for more.

If you aren't buying till Xmas time, I'd take a good hard look at the LGA1156 platform. Not sure if it'll be that much cheaper than a 920/X58 as there are decent X58 mobos in the $200 range but the gaming performance should be just as good as the 920, esp. the midline i7 860. Plus for those not planning to overclock much, the Lynnfields will probably serve them better as it has a more aggressive turbo mode than Bloomfields.

You lost me at LGA 1156 but I'll look into it. Edit : I don't think I'll bother with the 860 I can't find it on NCIX plus what I've been reading is starting to confuse me.

LGA1156 is the socket for the next crop of cpus from Intel with new motherboards based on a new chipset (P55,P57). It's supposed to replace socket 775. It should be out later this month or next. I believe NDA will be lifted this week and there'll be a slew of reviews of the cpu (codenamed Lynnfield) and motherboards. The one confusing thing about Lynnfield is in addition to having Core i5 cpus, Lynnfield will also include core i7. The first 3 out are
Core i5 750 (2.66GHz) without HT
Core i7 860 (2.80GHz) with HT
Core i7 870 (2.93GHz) with HT
Some peviews of P55 mobos

Okay so it's not even out yet. That could explain a lot of the confusion. Guess I'll wait and see.

Yeah everything above looks good. My personal opinion is that you don't need the biggest and most processor these days. If you have much of a choice opt for a better graphics card(s) and downsize the processor and be sure you have lots of upgrade room for your graphics card as these days and over the next few years we will be seeing GPU technology skyrocket like never before.
