Hi guys! I am thinking of getting a Pixel 4 XL refurbished as my phone is regularly disconnecting from the network. What would be the pro's and cons of life with Pixel 4 XL?

Official Google Support for the 4 XL is I think supposed to go until Oct 2022, so it would have a bit of support left, which is nice.

I don't know much negative about it beyond what you would find in reviews from when it was released. I still have a Pixel 3 that was my main phone before I bought the Pixel 6, and the 3 still works decently well. The 4 would be better than that.

I am thinking of getting another phone and if new I would opt for the Pixel 6. Any drawbacks so far for P6?

There is a Pixel 6 thread on here where we've gripped about the main complaints. Recommend you reference that too. Overall I am happy with it.

The biggest frustration with me is the fingerprint scanner that just isn't accurate enough it seems. They have improved it with patches, some, but it still doesn't work nearly as well as the tech on my Pixel 3. Under the screen just isn't as good, or something. And the lauded Tensor chip is fine but it still fails "Hey Google" requests more than I would have expected. But I am happy with the phone and would recommend it if you like the straight from Google experience, which I prefer, with the monthly updates and security patches.

@Lysrin Have you tried the multiple fingerprint hack? Add another fingerprint unlock under security setting, but scan the same finger as your primary unlock. I've done this, it doesn't miss nearly as often now.

I'm happy with my Pixel 6. Camera is really good.

I did read the Pixel 6 thread completely. I also read carefully the reviews for both P6 and P6Pro at GSMarena.com. For my case use the Pixel 6 non pro seems to fit my needs. I had the Nexus 4 and Nexus 6 before so I am used to the vanilla Android flavor and I like it. What's with the Pixel 6a?

No I did not know about that hack. Interesting. I have several fingerprints in, but for different fingers. Worth a shot. Thanks @SugarJ

If you do the hack, does that mean the only fingerprints your would have would be for the same finger, but multiple recordings of the same finger?

I only use the one finger. I'm pretty sure you can still use multiple fingers, but it's getting more maps of each print so more likely to recognize it.
