Ryzen 7 5700U Flies Past Ryzen 7 4800U in Geekbench 5

beats the 4700U by almost 14%...but what sucks is that Geekbench reads the 5700U as Renoir, not Lucienne. so we may still be stuck on Zen 2 for the mobile world. on the plus side though, the 5700U has SMT enabled, so you get 16 threads, its boost is 200mhz higher and the RX Vega 8 is also clocked higher to boot.

no idea why they aren't unifying all their products on the same generation...stupid and confusing!
 
I agree it is frustrating for them to be different, however, I will gladly accept APUs being a gen behind if it means the cpu only chips get more cutting edge tech. I assume they probably would have issues in rolling out cpu+apu concurrently due to R&D.
