I would say that the drive should even replace de SSD in this case on a more on the budget build. Very good choice.
 
Any chance of doing a raid review with those drives? I'm really curious how they would perform.

I don't really think will bring any magical numbers : considering best case scenario (testing on a dedicated RAID controller) just double the numbers when it comes to read/write operations. For the loading times might not be as clear however but for sure faster than just the single drive.
 
I replaced my wife's laptop drive with the 2nd generation 800GB laptop version of this drive. It did a reasonable job of speeding up her computer (as much as was possible with the old hardware inside) compared to the old platter-only based storage, but it's a loon way from modern SSD performance.

However, I would argue that it's similar in performance to the older Corsair SSD (Force?) that is in the HTPC.

I installed an old 64gb ssd ( kingston svn4255364) on my laptop and it is allot faster I wonder what this would do in comparison
 
These will never replace SSD speeds EVER. The highlight of these drives is simply that it recognizes what you use the most of and caches it to speed up the process of using it.
