SENTRY: Console-sized gaming PC case project

Still not available? Been a long time since this thread started...might just go with a node 202 as this is taking too long to come to reality it seems.

We are starting our indiegogo campaign in 4 days, so it will be available soon (www.zaber.com.pl/sentry).

And please also remember this is a community project. We tried to make everything according to what people asked for, and this is why it took so long. If we would just design a case without taking feedback from you guys, SENTRY would be made something like a year ago, but definitely it would not be as good as it is now

The Node 202 is an awesome case that I can readily recommend for any SFF build, but it's got to be said that great designs take time and it may surprise you just how many intricacies have to come together to make a solid case. Fractal Design has a full staff of seasoned engineers, designers and QA experts, and even a new revision of an existing case (let alone an all new concept) can take the better part of a year to fully realize. Considering they're a team of two brothers coming up with something totally new in their free time, it would be beyond impressive for them to go from prototype to store shelves in the six and a half months since their first post announcing the project.

Fair enough, and good for them.. but I've waited long enough and it is what it is.. the Node202 is available the Sentry is not... pretty much an easy choice!

Very nice of you to make such a supportive comment though! That kind of support for the little guy, especially from a bigger guy competitor, isn't that common these days. Always liked Fractal... now even a little more :thumb:

Definitely liking Fractal just a little bit more now. Although I passed on the Node 202 in favor of the Lian Li PC-Q19 because not as deep (albeit a little wider), I love my Arc Midi's. Had a couple of rubber feet pop off and Fractal was on the ball replacing them for me even past my warranty. Kudos to Fractal for being supportive of the little guys though.

Back on track though, this Sentry case does have me intrigued. Caught my eye the other day for sure when I saw the thread and I could definitely see myself investing in one down the road. Kudos to ZombiePL and his brother for what looks like a pretty slick design.

Thanks for kind words. That is true. It would be extremely hard to finish such project from scratch in for example 6 months, while working with it only in our free time. If we would leave our daytime jobs, maybe, maybe... but it is out of question. 3 days guys :) and we will know everything :)

Mr Zbigniew made some more nice photos of Sentry. The source is here:

You can see how perfectly shaped oversized GPU looks like with properly recessed PEG connectors here as well.

I've embedded them for you below - enjoy :)
