I'm looking for a computer speaker set do not need a surround sound setup, just a good set of 2.1's that can pack a punch.... I use my pc for gaming, watching movies, tv, and listening to music. My old set is about 10 years old now and the subwoofer is now toast.. They were a no-name set "yamada" that actually sounded good. But I need a new set... any suggestions for a good bang for the buck 2.1 speaker set, I believe my original set were only about $40, so I would like to go with something under $100... any idea's?

The Logitech Z2300's can be got for $99 at times and they're about the minimum I typically go... haven't had to buy speakers in a while though, so maybe things have changed.

There is only one place I can find z-2300's for less then $100 and they are listed as refurbished... Is it worth taking a risk on refurbished speakers even though speakers are usually listed as $200 retail (new)?

GO to the Flea Market or Pawn shop and buy an home audio amplifier and a pair of tower speakers. I have a Technics setup on my PC that was well under $100 at the pawn shop that makes ALL PC speaker systems sound like toys.

Debating between the edifiers and new klipsch promedia 2.1 and used promedia 4.1...
Anyways, if you still want the edifiers, PM at xpress Canada to save a few bucks: Xpress Canada - Speakers > 2.1 Speakers Systems : Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input .

I've never got to hear the ProMedia 2.1's but I do own the V2.400's.

I've been very happy with them and they've worked without issues. Apparently they are easy to repair too, when/if the time comes.
