Star Citizen

Pffft that's nothing 😅 GTA5 and Warzone are far bigger... (no really that's huge haha)

It would be almost impossible to get my main PC ripped apart, the parts used with an awkward case that's in pieces all over the place, and toss it all together, add parts to my driving sim cockpit... ya I don't think I can make this happen... 🤕😬😓

Got any inspiring words to convince me to do more work in two days than I've probably done in months? HAAaaa....
Probably not, but the free fly does run until the 30th, so you have more than two days ;) You don't have to get in at the beginning.

And they do have multiple free flys each year, so they'll be another chance if you miss this one. I and others shall continue to keep people informed!

Just to update, I have experienced some server issues during my time in the IAE event this year, elevators and trains slow to respond, mapping of routes for quantum drive sometimes not working, etc. but over all it has been working well.

The issue definitely tends to be linked to a server instance getting overloaded or failing. However I have on a couple of occasions had a server recover itself (there are ways to monitor server performance available from console commands). So that is an improvement. In the past once a server tipped over the edge it was basically get somewhere and land before it totally cratered. Self-recovery means you can keep on playing without logging out and back in and that is good!

The year is 2139,

StarEngine v52.45ti SUPER++++XXTXTXX+ULTRA has been released.

Beta rumoured to end sometime in 2144. Maybe.
24 min is too long if you're actually not that interested in the game's development, but the parts on water physics and animation and the planetary tech are pretty amazing. Their dynamic fire system is very cool too but you won't really understand it from this video. The detail on how it works, how players can fight and manage ship board fires, etc. is better covered in the dedicated Citizen Con video from this year.

The planetary tech is the "holy grail" so to speak for space sims and unfortunately Elite Dangerous never made it. They have more planets, but since they never implemented atmospheric planets, water, etc. they generally speaking aren't that interesting. I did some exploration runs farther out into the galaxy, and I really wanted to like it more, but it just never captured my interest like I'd hoped. The planetary options in Star Citizen are just beyond anything we've had so far.

I dropped my restitution to 720P and set all settings as low as i can and i am getting a solid 30 Fps or more. Time fore me to get back into this. I wish I had thought to lower res earlier. :)

Are you running on an older system? I am running at 4K, high settings, and the worse place for FPS for me is Orison, 20-30 fps there, but all other places I am usually around 50+ fps these days. My computers no slouch for sure, but performance has improved in game a lot for a variety of systems.

Well grabbed a Vulture rental when Drake was being showcased.. in the 48 hours rental made over 400k so not too shabby. Going to grab the Vulture again end of IAE to get enough to buy one in game.

Then probably spend some money and CCU my Nomad to a Cutlass Black.
