hey all was wondering if anyone besides me has had the chance to test a steam deck on the Alienware AW3223DW QD-OLED monitor?

iv tested my steam deck on my 65-75 tvs and it works flawlessly all 4K 1 Oled, but when i try same thing with my Alienware it goes into power saving mode and no amount of cable changes port changes dispaly to hdmi will make this work. i can get it to sometimes blip onscreen then soon as i try open a menu instant power savings mode ><

not sure how to diagnose this as it works on regular tvs yet not this monitor.

you cant on this monitor there is a eco option but from the mega thread over on [H] Forums its said not to disable that as when its off it keeps the monitor on burning hours with it in a always on state. but i did try and it exhibited the same behavior. i got a (Offical) dock from Jsaux i think they are called its at least hopefully better then the $49 one i picked up from Source.

ill report back tonight when im off to see if it made any difference.

oh i was going to make it my Retro Station with this beast of a monitor and since there seems to be a V2 coming id retire this one to just Retro Gaming. and or linux tinkering when i want to test things out with semi modern hardware that will be supported.

I considering some retro stuff but I wasn't thinking about making that work on a TV. I found a lot of things I tried with retro pi didn't really perform well as I'd hoped even with an overclocked pi 4 8gb. Those would run amazing on a steam deck in comparison and would be much better TV experience. Thanks for putting new ideas in my head.

I'd figured it was the perfect pairing a fairly strong probable that tisnt the switch I could tinker and make work way I wanted without worry of getting banned from online play lol. Alot of great tutorials on setting it up too.

Now to figure out a fix to make this work on my insanely pricey monitor if it can't work it'll go back and I'll stick to the TN Gsync Dell I had before.

I'm not familiar with the steam deck at all but does it support 3440x1440 ultra wide? 4K tvs arnt UW resolutions.

That's all I can really come up with.

my new dock from JSAUX came in gave it a new cable and it actually works on desktop holy hell im going to have to find a setting that works lol it keeps the screen on the deck on and the monitor but icons are on the deck not monitor so thinking its def a scaling issue ill dig further into.
