Hey guys, first day here lol. I have been pondering on what hardware i will need for a medium gaming and low level vid editing, i am tending towards an i7 cpu and as for GPU, well mid to high end

I'd say:

Asus P9X79: $300
Intel i7 3820: $320
Corsair AX-850: $200
16 gig quad channel kit: $100
GTX 680: $510
Case: Whatever you like: $150
Boot Drive: Crucial M4 128 GB : $150
Storage: WD Black 1TB: $120
Bluray burner - $80
Corsair H80 cooler: $90

That pretty much burns off your $2000.

Adapt as you feel you need too, you can certainly get equal power with less money.

Say:

P8z68VPro: $200
Corsait tx-750: $150
16 gig dual channel: $100
i7-2600K: $320
Case as you see fit: $150
H80 cooler: $90
Boot Drive: Crucial M4 128 GB : $150
Storage: WD Black 1TB: $120
DVD Burner: $20
GTX 680: $520

Total $1820.

Just as good, but not as upgradeable.

Okay then:

I'm not sure what you want for monitors but you can get a decent 1080p 24 incher for $180 which still lets you build the second machine and is quite high end.

If you need two monitors and you are only doing medium level gaming you could drop the GTX 680 and go to a 7870 for around $360 instead giving you room for 2 monitors in that price.

You could get a cheaper case and save $50, you could aircool and save $40, could drop $40 and get a slightly lesser motherboard etc, but I was trying to use up the whole $2000 suggested.

Yea bro, thanks for the ideas, and yea about medium gaming ae, nothing extreme lol not yet

2K is quite a bit of cash - so you can definitely afford to get good stuff. When are you looking to purchase? The rumor of Ivy Bridge coming out at the end of the month might be worth the wait if it proves to be true.
