Time to Bid Farewell to Windows XP SP2

lame. why the hell would i buy a 244$ OS (win7) i got a pirated one and its caught no more win7 for me and now im stuck with windows XP for a long while.
my idea is to get a laptop with windows 7 and just copy the OS from there to my hard drive would that work?

We do not support the Pirating of any type of Software here, Period.



On topic, I will miss XP. FWIW, it was a good OS to me and unlike 98 or Vista gave me better overall operating experiences than either OS.

I will migrate to Win7 When I have the Coin. But not until XP is dead and buried.

Second to that. When it becomes like most other mainstream programs ($30-49) I'll splurge, but I'm not spending twice my monthly car insurance fee on a disc and the legal right to use it.
 
Windows XP. One of the best OS ever.

Only SP2 is getting discontinued... I'm sure there will be sites on Google where you can download SP2.
 
Ah finally, the XP has had a good run. Microsoft gave us a ride on the emotional rollercoaster for a good few years sionce release to SP2. The good ol-days.

If you don't like paying for an OS, then get Linux. Otherwise, don't complain about Win7 just because your illegal copy was caught and disabled. It's your own fault for pirating it, and you know it.
 
Geo: I'm not sure if its still available, and I forget where I found the request link, but M$ sent me an update disc with SP2 on it for free. It was totally free, so I'd imagine there are lots of people like me with hard copies. Shouldn't be hard to find on teh innarwebz.

XP may have been the best OS ever released my M$, but as others have said, they need to generate some income now and then. I've been with W7 since the first RC and I haven't looked back. Gotta support it, after all.
