Any recommendations for an easy to use website building program? I don't need anything fancy, be nice if it supported 10-8 scheduling widget though.

TIA

Not sure if it still exists, but if this is for a business, there might still be government programs available to do it for "free". I know it was offered during the initial COVID waves in Toronto at least, to help get businesses online.

Square bought Weebly, not sure if they are fully merged together yet or not. Wix is probably another option.

WordPress is another common WYSIWYG.

One word of caution be very leery of plug-ins. Often the core of these web-site builders are "ok" but often people start adding dozens of plug-ins and often they have security vulnerabilities so you should try to stay as vanilla as possible only adding what you absolutely must to get what you want.

Wix looks promising.

Been a long time since I used anything but hand coding with Notepad + but it's a simple website without any scripting. Everything digital changes so rapidly now there's no way to keep up with it especially at the amateur level.

You'd be surprised what you can do and how quickly if you put some time into it these days.

The technologies are dead easy to pick up, like React wrappers for your UI and tonnes of free offerings like AWS free tiers for basic use.

Try VSCode instead of Notepad++ for a free IDE.

Actually, I can't be bothered much anymore. It's a time (& effort) issue. From my website I've removed a lot of artwork and will remove more (come fall/winter). After studying the many social sites, I decided on Instagram to post some pics & art. Faster, simpler. I think a personal website now is a lot of work and only worth it if you're willing to invest the time and effort AND you have an audience. I don't have much traffic anymore...

Ended up using Wix. Not too expensive. Mainly I need a client end scheduling program for my customers to use to book cleaning for my wife's business.

In the future if my wife has more staff they can also get their schedule from the staff side, online, and easy.

It also has the mobile editor to make sure things line up properly. Works decent imo.

In a way, yes it's sad since I've had a personal website since the late 90s. But tech changes, audiences change. And at my age, I've changed and outlived a lot of people, so there's not much point for me now. How many people now surf the Internet on computers and monitors?

I can understand having a small portable computing device like a smart phone or tablet but to me that's like parking a couple of miles away from a drive-in theatre. And there's not many of those left either. 😬
