Voodoo was a Calgary company that made gaming computers. It was bought in 2006 by Hp and they started shipping gaming machines.

I was looking at the hp site today and it appears that hp doesn't offer any gaming products, not even peripherals except for a mouse pad.

Anyone know when hp left the gaming market? and what happened?

The Voodoo PC homepage hasn't been updated since 2009 and Rahul Sood recently left HP - so whether HP resurrects the brand or not, I'd say the Voodoo we knew is practically dead.

It's really too bad that HP did a weak integration of Voodoo products into their own. Their DV series of laptops are supposed to be influenced by the Voodoo Envy. Unfortunately, the DV's come nothing close to the Envy. A 2011 Envy would be so hot.

I'd prefer to see a desktop reboot; Start with the Omen again, and then get a laptop out like they once proposed/prototyped (I remember it being a performance beast at the time, with crossfire 3870's and C2Q)

EDIT: Found a video of the above described laptop that should clearly go into production (with a hardware update of course :haha:)
