which CPU do you recommend?

For building it's basically the same thing, ocing is a little different with bootstraps and such but you get the hang of it quick. Again, Im not trying to pursuade you from buying AMD, I just want to highlight that there are options w/ Intel that could be better. If you wait 2 weeks the Intel price drops will allow a killer system for cheap.

sure...I'll keep in mind that AMD isn't the only solution....:thumb:

Too bad, I was considering buying some AMD shares...LOL

Hehe, you might want to wait some time on that.. ;) I bought a bunch of Intel when C2D was about to come out @ $17, now they $26 whereas AMD has dropped to $15.

i went from an amd x2 3800 at 2.8ghz on the same mobo as you to the system in my sig. HUGE difference. especially in cpu limited games like cs source (mostly what i play).

6 hdds actually. :P thx.

when i had the 3800 i had 2gb and the raptors, with a x1950xtx.

i actually don't have the dvd drive in right now cause this motherboard only has 6 internal sata ports. i'm looking for an external esata enclosure for 5.25" drives but have yet to find one...

It's basically the same thing to set up an Intel system. Let us know when you get the parts, and we'll help you get things set up if you run into any problems.

it actually already dropped since july. The 6000X2 was 279 and is now 200! (according to canada comp's web)
