I have noted the discussions about various "hiccups" with Intel 13th & 14th Gen cpus. At this point in time are these mostly resolved or still a source of problems? I am considering a new cpu/mboard/ram combo (i have the rest: case, psu, video card, ssd, hdd, etc from a previous fried system). I am not looking for blazing speed, overclocking to the max but a rock solid system. Are these (13 & 14th Gen) the way to go or should I look elsewhere? Thank ytou.

Intel has really been taking a beating the last couple generations. Depending on what your using it for or gaming the recommendation is usually still the x3d chips. Looking at hardware without mentioning the use case does limit usefulness of suggestions and comments

I don't really trust the issue is completely fixed by the BIOS. If you can find a 12th gen for cheap or a Ultra Core 200S I would go that route for Intel. OR just go with AMD AM5 platform which still give you 1 more gen of upgrade in 2026.

I have the throw my vote in for AMD for the current gen of systems too. You won't be disappointed with the platform. I haven't been since I decided to try AMD with my current 5900X system.
