My 7900XTX Hotspot was higher than I wanted it to be, so I ordered upsiren thermal putty and Honeywell PTM7920 pad for the gpu core. And the results were fantastic. The putty is a bit annoying to work with, i ended up putting it into a syringe which made it better.

What version of xtx do you have? I keep wanting to do mine, but I haven't had a lot of success getting video card heatsinks back on properly after attempting to improve temps.

This reminds me I need to check what my GPU hotspot is sitting at since putting new pads on (after trying putty). I wish there was a way to tell which component/location was the hotspot though.

Found the paste I bought extremely hard to work with, but would try another brand at some point.

The phantom gaming was pretty easy to disassemble and install the water block. Maybe a dozen screws and a power connector to the fans is about all it would take to be in a state of basically a bare PCB.

I've got the thermal Grizzly tim coming in tomorrow (thermal pads have already arrived), but just the standard tim and not the bubble gum.

That's my starting point.... not sure how big of a difference it's going to make, but I'll be happy if I can bring the hot spot max down by 10 to 15c.
