Upgraded some of the family systems and was looking to see if my expectation was off in terms of pricing here to move these.

14900kf / z790 Dark Hero
14900kf / z790 Ace
14900k / z790 Hero

Was hoping to land around $800 per set and was curious if people thought that was fair.

Looking on eBay completed transactions:
  • z790 Ace, lowest at $250 before shipping but $350 ish seem like a reasonable average
  • z790 Dark Hero, working lowest seem to be $450 area
  • z790 Hero, lowest seem to be $300 area but I seen closer to $400, some "new" closer to $630
So. $800 for Dark Hero and Hero combo sounds fine based on eBay pricing. But for the Ace combo, I would drop it to $700 to $750.

BUT

CC got a Ultra 7 265KF with Z890-S board and Teamgroup Vulcan 32GB for $950 before tax. So in BC that's about $1065 including tax. If I add new RAM to the $800, I'm at $1300.

ME got 9800X3D with B850 board and 32GB of Teamgroup 32GB for $1225 before tax or $1372 with tax (12% in BC). Go with the X870 combo, it's $1350 before tax and $1512 with 12% tax.

If I'm $200 within a 9800X3D, I'm going to with the 9800X3D combo. Yes, your boards are objectively higher end but personally I don't really care because I run at default speed and only interested in slight OC with water cooling, at long as the board isn't shit tier stuff, medium tier works fine. Looking at benchmarks, a 9800X3D combo would perform better or the same as 14900k but with the benefit of Zen6 coming down the pipeline.

Thanks that's was really well written out. Haven't been following the bundles lately those prices are pretty good.

Hmm well I dislike using ebay to sell anything so maybe I'll aim for $750 on each and see how it goes. Maybe I can bundle it with a 1tb NVME for good measure!

For best results I wouldn’t list here. 😂 Try facebook marketplace. The price check thread here is only good if you want to negotiate against yourself before even listing a thing. 🤕
As much as I dislike this comment, I have to agree with it. People like me are weighting cost and value all the time and have previous price bias. $800 local first and if no one is taking then lower a bit. Still no taker then try here. If people would pay $300 for an old AM3 Asus Crosshair IV on eBay, there bound to be people that would pay $800 for the combo. Hell start the price at $850 for the Hero combos locally and see if someone will take them.

Bundle prices used to be better, I recall 7800X3D with board + RAM was sub $1K from CC or ME 2 years ago.

Out of curiosity, what would a 13700k be valued at? Maybe I can pair it with the Ace board since both are NIB RMA replacements. Just figured it'd be easier to shift the i9.

Also very much understand Crazyea's sentiment. Everywhere is different in how things are valued. FBM is a can of worms and my messages are riddled with generic crap but sometimes you luck out with the right person who wants what you got and it brings a much wider audience. Other times things are just easier to do on a forum like this cause people would be more familiar and might reach the right audience.

eBay completed transactions showing i7-13700K to be low as $300 to $320 before shipping. I think pushing it up to around $350 may be better. A 14th gen version is about $400 in Vancouver, you may be able to swing that by saying it's a fresh RMA unit never plugged in.
