Some relief for software. I already purchased the original, older version of Affinity Suite (Photo, Design, Publishing) several years ago which serves my simple needs. But there's a new free version of Affinity Suite by Canva.

Plus a lot of other graphic editing software alternatives to Adobe products. Haven't tried any except the Affinity Suite that I use on both PC and Mac - same licence.

Unfortunately the Verge is paywalled. :(

I do remember recently reading about the latest version of DaVinci Resolve taking on Lightroom/Photoshop, and while it haven't tried it myself it looks like they're talking about the free version as opposed to the $500+ video editor?

Works for me... in a weird way. Didn't realize it was pay walled. Hit the paywall like you said. Then, I reloaded the page, but moved the mouse to the side scroll bar and scrolled with that, which is why I was able to read the article when I read it. So able to read it a 2nd time without any issue. On a MacMini with Firefox.

Let me know if you still have a problem. There's not much text there & I can send it to you.

Refreshing the page didn't do me any good, OTOH, opening in a private window did. :)
