There were rumors of the RTX 3060 12GB being re-released for sometime. Now a post is claiming Colorful, ASUS, MSI, and Galax are brands expected to get new allocation from NVidia. Apparently this is to fill the gap of the cancelled 5050 9GB.

guess they're going to use up old stock and a RAM standard that's no longer used either.

Makes sense if they’re just trying to fill a gap in the lineup, especially if there’s still demand at that level.

I think it's more of 'the only option available' situation with all manufacturing capacity being focused on the very profitable enterprise products in heavy demand. so they have stock of these GPU and apparently enuff stock of GDDR5 for the VRAM.
