Originally saw the news on GN's news video, here's NZXT website about it.

TL;DR: The modular SATA cable got pinned incorrectly where 12V delivers 3.3V and 3.3V delivers 12V. Affected units were sold in US (not sure if Canada got some US batches).

 
... I'd be furious 12V to a 3.3V input would instantly nuke whatever it is connected to... I think the saving grace here is that I can't think of much that takes sata power that actually uses the 3.3V line, pretty sure most modern stuff only uses 5/12 rails. I wonder if it would still cook a drive not making use of the 3.3V rail normally though. Just because it doesn't use the 3.3V doesn't mean the pin isn't still there etc.

Reading the details they seem to be downplaying the risk but not 100% convinced.
