Core i7-860 Tested: Faster than Core i7-920

From what I've seen on the net so far about the 860 4ghz isn't a problem and if its as fast clock for clock......So much for the premium product theory.

I'd love to know were intel gets the bright idea to make the faster model held back numericly like to the untrained eye would you go after 860 or 975? It's like saying the new ATI 3990 x3 that out powers any new gen stuff but sound like old tech. Honestly Intel could have called it the 940 green or somthing...

The new i7 9001 when you open the box it yells ITS OVER 9000!!! Then explodes. I want into to make those weird cartridge mount CPUs again... Lol

Eh. So what if they are the same. Ive had my i7 for a month now. Anyone who is 'waiting' on i5 is still waiting. I'm -using- it. Now. Today. Not tomorrow.

Oh, and the price is the same. And the motherboards are just as expensive. Whats the point (or better said: Whats the difference?)

X58 for multi GPU/CF/SLi set ups, will and still is king, its the premium product, the one for the enthusiast's.

P55 is for the mainstream and mainstream enthusiast's, the ones with 1 GPU, or maybe 2 mid end GPU's.

The x58 is intel trying to turn our gamer pc's into servers... Although server boards often support dual CPU and are not meant for high end graphics.

i suspect a x58 dual chip board will come out one day...
