plasti-dip your motherboard

I have to be honest. It reminds me of the bad 'paint over everything' paint jobs in many apartments. Especially the older buildings with painted cupboards.

For this to look good, I think all external elements would need to be taped imo.

I'm a little surprised you are having no heat issues.

I've painted PCB's before , but never like that . It looks really good !

I might have to try this out !

IF this was something older (board) I would be concerned with isolating and insulating the parts on the board. However technology has come a long way, now the hottest components on my Z77 board is the SB at full tilt.

If I was going to put that much effort into a motherboard makeover , I'd tape off all the high heat devices and put heatsinks on em anyways.

I could name a few current motherboards that would catch fire if you did that to em tho ...

Guess I've been lucky in that regard.
My VRM full tilt on the Z77 Intel board gets to about 56, the SB hits 68.

Guess I haven't been blessed with your inferno's Brain. That being said I would probably do the same. I have a stash of enzotech sinks dying for a home.

Very interesting and bold move. I also would have taped off a few components....not necessarily for heat, but just for looks (that would be personal preference). Enjoy your unique build.

thanks

the mobo still run perfectly and still no eat issue

no freeze, no crash, run very well
dont forget, this mobo is just a test and return to the box in garage soon

Don't be so quick to find a way to get rid of those... last time I checked it was getting harder and harder to find them, and I'd hate to need one for a hot component and not have any. :)

I wouldn't mind jut painting the I/O part of my board (from the inside) the chrome part... It's the only thing that bugs me in my all black case

That's actually where this started. lowfat posted an image of it on one of his builds and then I followed his example.... :)

It's great for black, but I'm thinking it would be even more striking for somebody going with a different colour scheme since it comes in all different colours / shades.

Will the plasti-dip work on higher end mobo's?
or do they produce more heat?
