I am wondering about which coulour represent which, when I was living next to the base on Vancouver island most of the military had the stnadard green beret but this morning while on my run a woman ran past me pushing a child runners cart for kids and she was wearing a red or maroon one and man she was fast I am a slow runner but not that slow and she ran up over the hill and was at the bottom of the other side just as I was coming over the top.

I am almost 51 years old so It doesn't hurt my ego to much having people pass me by on runs but she was pushing a child and made me feel almost like I was walking :haha: so I am hoping that she is like special forces or the like

Green - army
Blue - Air Force
Black - navy/armoured (tanks etc.)
Orange - SAR tech
Red - military police
Maroon - jumper companies/riggers, Canada's airborne unit disbanded
Tan - special operations

Curious though, why would she have a beret on, was she even in uniform? Weird, even in the rare occasion you do PT in combats you never wear a headdress, and you certainly wouldn't be pushing a stroller. Sounds like she wasn't military.

not sure why she was wearing it I caught only a glimpse of the crest or patch (not sure exactly what it is called) and it did look Canadian to me. and no she wasn't in fatigues .
as for the Airborn they were disbanded years back weren't they like just after Sarajevo, I remember my Buddy back in 1994 over that way he was a medic near some abandoned hospital that apparently still had patients in it. anyways when he got back it was a short time later they started talking about disbanding them for some conduct reasons which to me made no sense at all I thought that it was becasue they were cutting back on the military trying to save a few bucks

Politics, simple politics. Was what they did right? No, but shit like this was happening for years in the Military. The airborne still lives on, they just call them "jump companies" now.

And I wear my wings with pride. **** the media.

Edit: If she wasnt in CADPAT, she wasnt military. Your beret is to only be worn in cadpat top and bottoms. The MINIMUM PT dress (without beret) would be CADPAT pants, with unit shirt.

Never understood people who wear military kit when they're not in, especially a headdress (I'd burn it if I could).
