It does work, the goblin has to pick up between 12 - 16 white items before it craps out a rare or legendary. I had one, but since whites are not very common now, unless you farm for them, I replaced it with something a bit better.
 
I still use the old puzzle rings on my followers when I play single player and do get quite a bit of goblins.

They re-worked the puzzle ring, it no longer potentially summons a treasure goblin when you get hit, instead a goblin follows you around and picks up the white items. Once the required number is reached (12 - 16), it will drop a rare item, with a small chance at a legendary.

Not sure when the change happened, nor how they handled those who had one before.
 
Started playing again, am I doing OK with my DH?

I can't really do Torment 1 very well, so I've been sticking with Hard or Expert depending on how lazy I feel.

I think you're doing ok.

I found that, even without any fire gear, it was much easier to start off with the cookie cutter Fire - CA build right away.

Once you find a few more items then you can branch out and do more!

I'm pretty happy with both of my DH's at the moment. Just missing Witching Hour belts on both, and perhaps better rolls in some slots, but the base items are otherwise all there.

The CA - Fire (HoeBag) seems to kill a bit faster, but I have more fun with the Physical/pet/sentry/chakram DH.

However, I have the most fun just running around with the Monk, pity the ThunderFury refuses to drop :@
 
Yeah spent 8 hrs on my crusader clearing all areas killed all bosses in every act did few rifts nothing not a single weapon lol. Do the followers still give bonuses like they usd to or has that changed?

Too bad they are nerfing monks fairly large in 2.1...considering they are the weakest class in game :doh:

They changed the followers bonuses a bit to keep them more in line (the Scoundrel was a bit OP with his 3% CC...its 1.5% now).

Gonna retire my monk and start playing my Wiz now. Not very happy with the change to OwE. I get it was TOO GOOD, but with the sudden gear change needed, and the loss of a primary stat to recover Resist All it is a huge nerf. Not to mention the shitty DPS they do compared to every other class.
 
I'm pissed about the monk... it was such a good class. All monks do is punch concrete walls which is a crying shame. Pretty much stuck with one or 2 possible builds that are completely dependent on set gear. I've tried everything with my monk and nothing is working. I used to run MP 4-6 with him prior to the patch.
 
The biggest problem with the monk (IMO of course) is still the lack of any kind of decent high(ish) AoE effect that doesn't cost all of your spirit points. Currently running a lightning build with t-god's and a fulminator which does add a bit of effective AoE for t2, but nothing like the other classes have.

Pretty sure there will be some sort of negative change in 2.1

But right now on live, the Tempest Rush - Inner Fire build with high CDR is working just fine for T3 solo (for me).

Seems fast for everything except bosses of course :|

On the DH front, seems more than ever, 6 piece Marauder is the way to go.

T4 was an absolute easy joke with non optimized gear with M6+ kridershot + frozen arrow + CA maelstrom. Not the way I wanted to play the game, but it's so EZ, why not? :<
