The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Review - Comment Thread

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 tested with aftermarket cooler | VideoCardz.com... Check this out. German dude makes his own custom cooler for the GTX 1080. He maxed OC it. And temps were only 54 C. Only thing holding it back really was that he couldn;t OC more because of power restriction of the 8 pin connector. Man, when custom cards come out with more then 1 8 pin connector. This thing will be a beast!!!!

call bull shit until you see the benching yourself.

Im telling you to be speculative until you see it in full release because lots of cheap shit could happen here.

limiting FPS software side could let the MHZ climb without temp problems for instance.

im no fanboy but you have to wait and see, there is far to many shit heads looking for hits on this.

Lol Kyle is a retard. Always has been.

Kyle is many things: honest, opinionated, not afraid to call people and companies on their bullshit.... in a very non-PC manner. But 'retarded' is not one of them.

He has a very good point on the FU....errr FE version, and is raising a good point on a potential issue we ALL should be concerned about. I personally loath paper launches. Its one thing to have something happen that causes an unexpected delay in shipments its another to go 'look at this shiny... now wait 6 months for it'. If NVIDIA is indeed paper launching their flagship model those who refuse to call them out on it will have lost a lot of my respect. It really will be a great litmus test for who are truly professional, trustworthy journalists and those who are nothing but jowhorenalists in it for free stuff and page hits.

Now hopefully this is all for naught and 1080s will soon be hitting shelves. At which point, Kyle will be called a 'retard' by fanbois and not thanked for helping to light a fire under a company that is quickly becoming a monopoly in the enthusiast end of the GPU marketplace.

YMMV

I won't go into the past but there is history you don't know about that gives me my opinion. I'm not a fanboi but have been buying cards from both companies since the very beginning.
