Rumor that Mike's computer shop may not be fulfilling orders, picking up phones etc

I also noticed that rather than the 4 - 6 locations(don't recall the exact number) they used to have, the "upgrading" site now lists only two. I don't know how long ago it took place, but sometime in the past few months I noticed that Mike's Maple Ridge, BC location is now one of SSL Computers' locations. http://www.sslcomputers.com/
 
Never heard of SSL computers before... are they big enough for a take over or are they more like Edmonton b-com computers and just a hole in the wall that has lasted years

Some locations definitely sound similar. Maybe they saw the opportunity to scoop up leases when Mike's had to pull the plug on those locations?

I hadn't heard of them before either, until one day I was driving by the Maple Ridge location, and happened to notice the sign change. As for size, I haven't been in any of their locations, other than their Maple Ridge shop, which used to be PrimeTime Computers, before Mike's took over that spot, and it's pretty small, at least in the customer area. Their Chilliwack location is also PROBABLY small, simply based on me knowing what that area of Chilliwack is like, which is mostly small "boutique" spaces.

I don't recall if Mike's had a location in Calgary or Surrey, BUT other than the Maple Ridge location of SSL being a former Mike's, I can DEFINITELY say that neither the Abbotsford location, nor the Chilliwack location, are former Mike's shops. They MAYBE bought up whatever stock was in those locations, and then moved elsewhere, but they definitely didn't "scoop up" those two leases.

All the good ones became TLS Computers a while ago.
