Looking for Decent cheap speakers for a simple 2.0 or 2.1 set up

$100ish and less, and your only options are going to be reasonable quality 2.0 (like the edifiers sswilson linked to), or generic pc speakers like the logitechs you have posted. Personally I would go with the edifiers.

If you have a higher budget it opens some other doors/options like other have brought up.
 
Before I got this current monitor I was using a set of JBL pebbles speakers (JBL not creative they both have pebbles speakers).

Though designed with PCs in mind, these snazzy speakers (reg. $50) can also provide an audio boost to another important appliance.

For USB powered speakers they are actually quite good.

are these like to old way , just connect the output of a stereo or TV to the speakers

Not really sure what you're asking here.....

These are powered speakers so yes they'd be fine for the output of a TV, but not really for a stereo (although you could leave the OP of the stereo low if you really wanted).

I guess what I am asking is are they RCA output or the old style I think 3.5mmm headphone output from the back of tv , the speakers I am currently using are Logitech 2.1 they use the back of the TVs headphone output
 
They're RCA input to the speaker but come with an RCA -> 3.5mm patch cord so they work the same as the ones you're currently using. (My 5.1 logitechs have the same RCA connection patch cable design)

No. Out of a TV or audio components (such as a cdm dvd,am/fm..etc ) you have what is called "line level" signals. If you want to go from a tv to a speaker system, they need to be an active set or you need to have a amp between your source (tv) and your (passive) speakers. If I am understanding you correctly.
 
I've got a pair of the Edifier 1280ts for my turntable. They're excellent speakers. They are pretty chunky for a desk setup, if you don't have a lot of space to spare, though.

that is how I used to do it , but I get that Hum I think it is a ground issue, I ended up buying those edifier speakers that SSWilson posted the yare not bad but again I have that grounding hum, issue, in the old days if a car stereo was going this it was a ground issue and easily fixed but I have never really figured out how to get rid of that issue
