Canadian RMA Experience

Heh not surprised, Phanteks charged me 40 cents + $3 shipping for 4x rubber gromets for the tempered glass side panel... I could only laugh as the credit card fees plus whatever Shopify charges probably ate most of it.

Stuff like this needs to be made public. When a company penny pinches for 40 cents and charges $3 for shipping; there's so many things wrong with this.
Could've just stuck it in a envelope and sent it by lettermail to you for free, would've only cost them $1 and kept a happy customer. Mind boggling stupid. What are they worried about, you gonna scam them out of some rubber grommets? 🤦‍♂️
Could be a policy thing too if not warranty. I once bought something from the US for work, the value of the order meant I was entitled to a free shirt so of course I took it. The invoice arrived with a shirt listed on it with a value of $0.00, but once our accounting department saw it they had to track me down and send them written proof of the value of the shirt before they'd approve the invoice, even if it was a gift!

It arrived exactly like this, but I will definitely think twice before buying Phanteks products again. When a company is that petty, I can't have much faith in their support if something was actually broken.

Just like August Home, I'd even be willing to pay for the plastic adapter/gear ($10USD), but their shipping to Canada is astronomical ($25USD) and their customer service showed no willingness to budge. I'd suspect it too would come in an envelope. They've lost my business.

How is that any different when I charge a customer 5 dollars for toilet floor bolts that cost me around 2 dollars? I know it sounds stupid, but they paid someone to put that order together and invoice it etc. At the end of the day it cost them 50-100 dollars and you're complaining about 10 Bux?

Sorry man I can't get there.

It's not about pinching. I don't care how much the toilet costs. They are paying for all of it or I'm not doing the work. If I do a bunch of copper and pex work should I just cover the fittings, even if it's only 3 or 4? Fuck that.

If I install a 100 toilets that's either 250 dollars lost or 250 dollars made.

Someone has to be paid to put the grommets in an envelope and lick it, stamp it, record the sale, make an invoice, put it on a spread sheet, and do the taxes on it. Its just not as simple as most people believe. Period.

Never mind the email communications between the customer etc. I guarantee they are losing money regardless.

Same with installing a toilet, it's all gotta be paid for or you go out of business, I've seen it happen. Little bit here little bit there and come year end it's thousands of dollars if not more.
