Dont know about you all but honestly, if I get hacked, I have insurance for credit card purchases and no money in the bank cause we're all broke anyway, so go for it. Keep backups of important files/memories etc, but don't rely on your PC for your life!
I certainly noticed a huge decrease in quality when I went from my 500D to the 5000D Airflow. That being said, the price drops were in line, so as always, you get what you pay for.
Thanks Cam! HWC locals, come say hi! It's an informal quick networking event only, with a handful of vendors and their reps. I'll be there in person, Cam will be there in spirit lol
4GB RAM and a spinner, running win10?? That's madness. What's the model of laptop, I'm sure i have RAM and an SSD here for you I could send for super cheap.
Definitely sounds like a dead NIC on the board. You can get a cheapo PCIe 1gbps card on amazon for around $20, or $35 for a 2.5gbps. Probably the quickest way to get yourself up and going with wired ethernet.
The fractal Define/Meshify 7 or 7 Compact are excellent cases. I use them exclusively for the high end workstations I sell to clients of mine that want reliable, powerful, and quiet PCs. Meshify gets better airflow, but at the cost of less sound deadening.
Technically it is currently "profitable" right now, with the right GPUs and if you do not have very expensive power to begin with. I'm using my 3080 to mine which is making around $1/day and costs around $0.30c per day in power, so it's profitable, and a bonus is a little extra heat in my place...

That does both, and is cheap
