I don't believe you'll see a significant enough increase in performance going from 8x/8x to 16x/16x, so if you're looking for a mobo upgrade, you might as well wait for the Crosshair IV since you'll get some other new features such as SATA 6Gbps and I think USB 3.0 as well.
Beware this will...
The specs on that page lists the Matrix at 9.5" which bodes very well for squeezing in a water cooling loop in the FT02 case I have. :thumb:
Any word on a definitive street date for the Matrix boards? Soonish isn't soon enough....
Edit: Upon closer inspection on ASUS' product page for the card...
The SSD has been sold and the Ultima 90 & fans are no longer available.
However, the amazing COSMOS S is still available at an amazing price as is the HR-05.
I'm actually in a similar predicament and was hopeful the OCZ adapter would be a cheap solution. However, it lacks the bottom 3.5" mounting holes so it may or may not work with your drive rails. This is should definitely work though, albeit at 2-3 times the cost:

Enermax Revolution 85+ Unboxing
Picked up a new toy today
Simple black box "art", you know this thing means serious business.
Shedload of cables. +1 to Enermax for always including those nice cable ties.
The star attraction. I never thought I'd ever praise a PSU for aesthetics...
It's definitely a great heat sink for its size. I think it's been out of production for a while now so if you want one....
Maybe when Silverstone releases an FT03:haha:
Curse you Corsair for building a case in your ideal image *shakes fist*.

I don't think it's possible to eliminate the PLX switch since it's needed to for the GPUs to share the PCI-E bus.
It'd be nice to see sideport return if it can really improve CF performance, but we would have to at least wait until ATI's next-gen since it was cut from Cypress.
Greetings all, since my system recently migrated to a Silverstone FT02, my COSMOS S and a few other parts are now in need of a new home.

Paint.NET is definitely great for beginners.
If you're looking for student discounts, Adobe offers up to 80% off on some software.
Just look under Store -> Education. They have Photoshop CS4 Extended for US$199.
Be aware that CS5 is coming real soon though.
Thanks.
I can't provide an apples-to-apples comparison of my temps since I also upgraded my CPU cooler, lapped the NB heat sink and added a 40mm fan to it. Right now, the CPU idles at around 30 C and NB at around 53 C. Before in the COSMOS S with the Thermalright Ultima 90, the CPU idled at...
With Fermi materializing the way it did, there is no doubt in my mind that many AIBs aren't too happy with NV at the moment.
Months behind ATI, performance not quite where it was hyped up to be, huge power and thermal envelopes.
Even without the single-GPU performance crown, I would argue that...
It's been a few days, but I finally got the SATA adapters I ordered so I could clean up the cable management and finish things up.
These were necessary since it was a bit of a stretch to get the SATA power connectors all the way to the hard drive cage.
Also ordered a L-shaped one so that I...
