Ran CPUID HWMonitor while benching and gaming, then checked the recorded max temps afterwards. I'm not sure of the Titan's fan size but we didn't tweak anything, just let them do their own thing.
Edit: Nevermind......... I was 'd by Slik. haha
He's got an Antec Kuhler 920 set to it's quietest level via software. His 3770k @ 4.2 GHz doesn't go over 70*C and considering there's only a single 140mm fan for intake that's pretty good. We tried 4.4 GHz today and it got quite a bit warmer, also didn't see a major difference in benchmarks...
Thanks.
Slik wanted the LEDs to produce a nice glowing effect through the side vents of his Level 10 chassis. It's actually pretty effective and looks great. However if the Level 10 had a side window they would be too bright. I'd post a pic to show you but I don't have one.
Hard to say man. All Slik does with his rig is play games @ 2560x1600. For him, a 3930k isn't going to beat a 3770K when OC'd to the same speed and I can't see how a pair of Titans would be held back but hey.... it's not my money. Just my advice.
^This. If the drive is detected by your computer and you have valuable info that you need off of it there is still hope. (No I'm not a sale rep haha)
Try SpinRite. I've witnessed instances were that software can work miracles.
Here are some more pics of my latest upgrade. These were all taken with my cell phone so they're not the best.
Some goodies from Dazmode.
A comparison between the old and new EK design. What do you think? The CSQ design really does look better in person.
Although both of my cards are...
Anyone? I was thinking $80 shipped. Does that sound right? New EK plexi-nickel blocks are $125 not including tax and shipping, so I figure 60% of that plus $5 for shipping.
Heh, it took a helluva lot of convincing to get him to go this route. I'm glad he did because dell mobo's are crap IMO, and he now sees the endless possibilities building your own rig. :thumb:
As far as switching to X79 to gain dual PCIe 3.0 x16 vs dual x8 with Z77..... I'm not so sure any...
:haha: Ok, if benchmarks show that the 3770k and Maximus V mobo is badly bottlenecking those Titans then I'll take the blame.
You know what Slik....perhaps we should trade video cards? A pair of Titans for a pair of 7970's. That way I'll have the bottlenecking issue and you won't have any...
Thanks!
I've had the board for about a year now. I love it too! I haven't tried using ROG connect with a laptop yet....I'm not sure why either. haha
I'll build absolutely anything you want man!! :thumb:
At the time I recommended the 3770K because he had a pair of EVGA GTX680 superclocked cards. I didn't know much or had much time to OC his Intel rig to the 9's so I "cheated" and went with the bios preset to 4.2GHz. If climbing higher to...
My rig is 100% water cooled so mobo and cpu temperatures aren't an issue. I think it's just the nature of the beast. I don't have a power usage meter but my best friend does. I've been meaning to ask if I can borrow it but I never think of it.
My EK FC7970 nickel plexi block will be up for grabs soon. I couldn't find a twin for it so I broke down and ordered a pair of CSQ blocks with a bridge from Daz.
So what is this block worth? Does the fact that it was also used in Lowfat's famous...
