    I would remove the CPU heatsink and re-apply thermal paste. It dries out over time and stops working almost completely.

    The damage seems extremely superficial at most. Also, apart from tech reviewers, who is swapping cards in/out of a system 60 times, let alone the SAME gpu? Seems like quite a non-issue for 99.9% of users, to be honest.
