Ok, within a month i will be upgrading my GTX 260.

Now the question is which of the two. I like the AMD this go around, the question is which one?

The two cards I am looking at are:

Sapphire 100352-2L Radeon HD 7950
$290 but $270 after rebate

or

Sapphire 100354XTL Radeon 7870 XT $260 but $235 after rebate

I am not sure if the $30 premium worth it. I tried to look for Skye's review on such a thing (I really trust his reviews). Any thoughts between the two?

Depends. Do you plan on upgrading your monitor? I see in your specs you have a 20". The 7870 would probably suit you fine, but I'd go with the 7950 otherwise.

Oh, forgot to add.

I currently have a 22" Asus 1920x1080. Upgraded my specs.

Because its only $25 difference after MIR, I would go to the 7950. The XT/MYST/whatever else you want to call it have been cheaper than that (they can be a great bang for buck if they are cheaper IMO). There isn't a massive difference in performance, but the 7950 (from what I have read) run cooler and use less power, while being a bit faster. You could also consider a 660Ti in that price bracket (if you want to stick on the Nvidia side of the fence).

25 bucks for a 7950? No brainer for me, i'd got with the 7950. Memory bandwidth is going to be way more on the 7950 (+128 bit difference) and a bunch more stream processors for 25 bucks!

And is that a crysis cupon i see??? 169.99 vs 149.99 value gift coupon means that (if you use all of the coupon's value) you're paying 5 bucks for a fundamentally better card (not just tweaked clocks).

I usually try to keep the game coupons out of it. But thanks for the feedback. Will try and pick up the 7950 when I finish getting my money.
